Boating Locations in Florida

During his presidency at AAUG Realty between 2002 and 2008, Gregor Gregory contributed to construction and real estate development along Florida waterways. Outside of work, Gregor Gregory enjoys outdoor hobbies such as hiking, fishing, and boating.

Florida coastal regions are ideal for boaters. For example, with more than 300 miles of rivers and inland waterways, Fort Lauderdale is ideal for activities such as scuba diving and boating year-round. Miami, 25 miles south of Fort Lauderdale, is also a launching point, and the Florida Keys, with iconic islands stretching all the way to Key West, are a boater’s paradise.

Some Florida boating destinations introduce visitors to rich histories. St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States and the nation’s first seaport, for example, contains an engaging historical district as well as the remains of a Spanish fort, Castillo de San Marcos, which dates back to the 17th century. The city of Pensacola also hosts a deeply rooted sailing culture, with several sought-after deep-sea fishing spots nearby.

Three Traits of Successful Entrepreneurs

Gregor Gregory, the former president of AAUG Realty, serves as the president and director of Northernlight in Hollywood, Florida. Responsible for the organization’s strategic direction, Gregor Gregory manages key client relationships and hires senior executives. While at AAUG, Mr. Gregory had similar responsibilities and grew the business by hiring Realtors and establishing a construction business. He has enjoyed a long professional history of entrepreneurial success.
Here are some of the traits of successful entrepreneurs:

- Confidence. Successful entrepreneurs understand that big rewards come with big challenges. Entrepreneurs remain steadfast in their pursuit of success because they are confident in their ideas and their companies. Entrepreneurs stay focused on their goals and firmly believe in their ability to recover after a setback.

- Tenaciousness. Building a business often comes with failure. However, failure does not deter successful entrepreneurs. They stay focused on their goals, regardless of the challenges, and continue moving forward. Tenacious entrepreneurs adapt and modify their plans when necessary instead of giving up after a failure.

- Self-motivation. Entrepreneurs cause change by taking an active role in life. They do not sit and wait for instructions; they go out and find the next task. Working tirelessly, entrepreneurs adapt well to new situations and maintain a strong drive toward their goals.

Tips for Buying Your First Beach House

With years of experience in the Hollywood, Florida area, former AAUG Realty president Gregor Gregory is the director at Northernlight. During his time at AAUG Realty, Gregor Gregory and his fellow realtors purchased properties near Florida waterways and helped build townhouses. There are several steps a first-time beach home buyer can take to avoid steep costs and a non-optimal experience.

Researching is the first step. Research the location’s culture and learn who your neighbors will be. Determine if vacationers visit the area. If so, find out when to determine how crowded your neighborhood is when they are not present.

Before purchasing a beach home, consider the maintenance and insurance costs. A beach home is exposed to the elements much more than an inland one; prepare to spend more money to repair any damage. Natural disaster-prone areas require flood and hurricane insurance to reduce unwanted costs. Research the geographic and meteorological properties of your home, so you can take advantage of the natural properties of the location, like viewing the sunset or letting the sea breeze blow through your home.

Once you purchase the home, find a knowledgeable, local home inspector with experience inspecting coastal homes. These homes face sustained wear and tear absent from inland homes; an inspector unfamiliar with them will not look for problems in the correct places. A licensed coastal home inspector delivers an accurate assessment so you can contend with the location’s conditions.
